Professional Instructor
I have been teaching Qigong classes in Gainesville since January, 2000. I currently teach at North Central Florida YMCA, the Village retirement community and Santa Fe College Community Education. In cases of special needs, I offer private instruction.
Biography:
I am a student of Bingkun Hu. Since beginning to work with Dr. Hu in late 2001, I have managed(as of 8-08)to study with him in person for a total of about 66 days of workshops (@ 6 hr/day) and some private lessons. During that time, Dr. Hu's teaching has focused on, but has not been limited to, Wild Goose Qigong.

I continually learn from my students.

1999-2002 I attended several workshops (total of about 45 days) led by nationally-known Qigong teachers: Wei Lun Huang, Kenneth Cohen and Tzu Kuo Shih.

From 1989-1999 I attended weekly classes in Qigong (including Taiji)with competent local teachers: Rory Mercer, Bill Smith and Malik Lawrence. In addition, for several years, I had weekly private lessons with Malik. For the beginner or intermediate student, consistent work with a competent local instructor is at least as important as occaisional intensive workshops with teachers who are more widely known. Since 1989 I have continually taken part in local classes as a student or as teacher. Without the regular in-class interaction it would be very difficult to keep my daily practice fresh and alive.

I began to do Qigong to help manage chronic fatigue that has affected me ever since I had hepatitis A in 1986. Over the years, I have turned to many different kinds health care practitioners. Some have helped me greatly when Qigong alone was not enough. However, Qigong has been my most steady and reliable source of help (after God, my wife, family, & church family) and has never produced undesirable "side" effects.
