Biography: |
Walter Hayley began his study of martial arts and Eastern philosophies more than 30 years ago while living in the Republic of South Korea. His study and his personal practice has greatly intensified in the past 10 years. He holds a graduate degree in acupuncture and has served as a clinical instructor and faculty member at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, Columbia, Maryland. He is also a former board member of the Marland Acupuncture Society. Just over five years ago, Walter moved his practice to the west coast of Florida where he now directs a multi-dimensional center for the healing arts, The Way of Wellness Learning Center. The Center offers several healing modalities and ongoing classes in taiji, qigong, and meditation. The Center's wellness philosophy places its focus on treating the individual rather than the label or symptom: "Our efforts are directed at getting to the root of the individual's condition. After all, true wellness is not about the mere absence of disease, it is about the optimal functioning of the body, mind, spirit..."
